Early Childhood Intervention

The ECI Program provides educational, therapeutic and case management services to children from birth to 3 years of age, using a team approach that includes the family. Because children learn best in their natural environments, services are provided in the home or day care facility. Families learn how to help their children fully participate in their life and routines, such as meals, play activities, and bedtime. Teaching skills as part of family routines gives the family the opportunity to help children practice skills that they will continue to use.

DeenaThe ECI staff are caring, dedicated individuals with a passion for babies and young children. Our goal is to promote healthy development, nurturing relationships, positive learning experiences, and community involvement for all our families.

Children, ages birth to 3, living in Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Hardeman, Jack, Montague, Wichita, Wilbarger, or Young counties are eligible for ECI services based on:

  • A diagnosis of a medical condition that leads to delay, such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy, autism, and torticollis OR
  • Developmental delay as determined by our program staff OR
  • Atypical development. A child with atypical development may show behaviors, such as extreme aggressiveness, withdrawing from social interactions, and resisting touch.

ECI Services Are Unique

Parents and professionals work together as a team. Families know their child best. The team develops a plan for services and assesses the child’s progress.

Services are convenient for families. Services are provided to children and families in familiar and comfortable surroundings where children live, learn and play.

Children learn new skills through everyday activities. Team members from a variety of backgrounds work together to find learning opportunities within the family’s normal routines.

Services are coordinated with others in the community. ECI works with doctors, child care providers, WIC, social services and schools to help improve the lives of children and family. We insure children transition to an appropriate service setting

Families of all income levels receive ECI services. There is no income limit.

ECI understands babies. The ECI program has helped babies and toddlers with delays in development and disabilities for more than 25 years.

Why Choose Us?

Babies are unique little individuals. Some children may grow and develop new skills at a slower rate than other children their age. By getting help early, you can begin to help your child develop in ways that are appropriate for him or her. Studies show that early intervention provides immediate and long-term benefits for families and children.
